Wpg audit for the Police Data Act
The Police Data Act (Wpg) audit focuses on how the processing of police data is organized, the measures and procedures that apply to it and its operation. There is a mandatory internal and external audit for compliance with the Wpg. The internal audit is conducted every year and the external audit every four years by an external certified IT auditor (RE).
Our approach
The following enforcement tasks from the Police Data Decree for Extraordinary Investigating Officers (BOA) are auditable:
- Public space enforcement
- Environmental, welfare and infrastructure enforcement (construction and housing supervision, environmental inspectors)
- Enforcement education (compulsory education officer)
- Enforcement work, care and income (social investigation)
- Public transportation enforcement
- These sections can be found in the Policies of the Extraordinary Investigating Officer
With the audit process, Inergy Auditservices annually checks whether the requirements of the Wpg are being met. This is done by a Registered EDP Auditor who is listed in the NOREA register. Our independent auditors perform the audit in one or more parts.
Report
Based on the audit, a formal report is prepared to be submitted to the Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (AP). In the event of an incident (data breach / complaint), the audit is the first thing to be looked at.

Police Data Act (Wpg) dashboard
Download the Wpg dashboard for free. In this way you can see exactly to what extent your municipality is compliant with the Wpg. Use it to your advantage to get an insight into where you stand and which norms have not yet been met. That way you can take targeted action.
The audit process
Step by step, our auditors go through the audit process. This way you know exactly what needs to be delivered at which step. We will also go through the quality requirements for the evidence to be delivered with you in detail. In this way you can continue to concentrate on your core task and at the same time go through the audit process properly.
Pentest and vulnerability scan
We also offer other solutions to support the audit process such as (digital) pen testing of the IT infrastructure and vulnerability scans. Please contact us for more information.
