BCBS-239 in a nutshell
01. Data architecture & IT infrastructure.
According to the BCBS-239 directive, as a financial institution you are required to have an IT Infrastructure to collect and report on all risk data. The process of collecting and reporting should be automated as much as possible. This way the chance of errors is much smaller. Our data platform is fully equipped for this.
02. Collecting data.
We collect the data from your financial institution according to certain guidelines. For example, the entire process must be automated. All data must also be validated. This keeps the chance of errors as small as possible.
03. Reporting data.
The data provides a good overall picture of the risks your financial institution faces. According to the BCBS-239 directive, it must be demonstrated that the data reported is correct. Our data platform is also fully equipped for this.
04. Supervisors
The supervisors of the BCBS-239 directive are the national and European Central Bank (ECB). These supervisors must also meet the same requirements. What is BCBS-239?
The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) has stipulated in Article 239 (or BCBS-239), among other things, that data is available at a bank at any level and at any time.
High demands are made on these data with regard to completeness, accuracy and integrity. These risk data must be reconcilable with the financial data at all times.
